Scientology: Believe it or not, it's still around

May 14, 2007 9AM - Curious about the recent broohaha regarding Scientology? I looked into Scientology about thirty some odd years ago and came to the conclusion that it's all a bunch of malarkey. It wasn't called a religion in those days, just a "self-help" program. Somewhere along the line, our Federal Government in it's 'infinite wisdom' <tongue-in-cheek> decided to qualify it as a religion.

Anyway, I caught a snippit on Fox News Channel yesterday that showed a screaming match between a BBC reporter and some representative of Scientology. Apparently, the 'scientogogists' want the BBC to ban the broadcast of a program that's been produced about Scientology and the BBC isn't backing down, saying that it meets their standards. So if I've got it right, the program will air in the UK on May 14th at 8:30pm. If we're both on Daylight Savings Time, I believe that will make it 12:30 (noon) PDT if you care to watch it live. Otherwise, it'll probably be on YouTube shortly thereafter (possibly in pieces of course).

5PM - Well. It was somewhat interesting wasn't it? Hmm. Seemed more like an organized crime expose' to me. It's a pity that the gullible yet innocent among us can't be afforded a measure of protection by our government against these kinds of organizations, huh. We can witness to them though, and tell them the Good News. When they're sick and tired of being beaten up by the likes of Scientology, they may remember what we told them and turn to God. Amen (let it be so Lord).
